No pain, no palm; no thorns, no throne; no gall, no glory; no cross, no crown.

— William Penn

I was working late last night with my friend Fredrick Adams.

The clock signaled 2:30 AM.

After sharing two Monster Energy Cans with Fred, I brought out a sachet of coffee, tore it open and swallowed it dry before drinking water.

My friend gave me the look of “ how do you deal with such bitterness?”.

I have been taking coffee straight for years, no sugar, no milk — most times no water.

The slap of the bitter is incredible but I am cool with it because I know it's about to release a burst of energy in me.

Coffee helps you make it through impossible situations. The amount of work you can get done when you not battling sleep — is amazing.

Ever tried getting a tattoo? When the needle touches your skin the first time it is incredibly painful. You can't stand it, but you hang in there and most times cry all through. Getting that tattoo will make you feel good so you stick with the pain till it stops hurting. An automatic emotional connection.

I have a friend that drinks herbs all the time. Crazy bitter stuff but it means a lot to him to live forever so he stuck with it long enough.

If I have only one word to describe us, I would say, humans “ADAPT”. We get used to things, we are able to handle an extreme situation. We expand when we are pushed to our limits.

Some of us never find our limits, some seek out their’s every day.

Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.

Life gets hard, you watch people you love — leave.

You adapt. You move on.

You cry but you still move on. Joy wouldn't feel so special if it wasn't for Pain.

I went mountain climbing with my friend Anthony Alaribe and through the hectic hike, we kept going. Climbing is hard.

At the top, while trying to catch his breath and pass out he said, “All the stress we took to get up here was worth it, this is beautiful”. I can’t forget the look on his face.

The extra mile is a vast, unpopulated wasteland.

Pain starts to disappear if you stick long enough with it. Lifting weights and working out will hurt your muscles. If you don’t quit, the results will show. Long term consistency beats short term intensity. How long are you willing to hang in there?

We all have limits. Almost no one reaches theirs. You definitely haven’t.

What are you willing to suffer for? How much are you ready to compromise even if you are not winning that business? Things might be slow but if you have an emotional connection to your purpose, your WHY. You will not stop until you make it work.

After a while, things might better, or NOT.

My Dear,
Find what you love and let it kill you. Let it drain you of your all. Let it cling onto your back and weigh you down into eventual nothingness. Let it kill you and let it devour your remains. For all things will kill you, both slowly and fastly, but it’s much better to be killed by a lover.
-Falsely yours

― Charles Bukowski
